2009 Mercedes-Benz G-Class
The G-Class was first developed in the 70’s when demand came to rival the Jeep. Mercedes answer was the highly advanced G-Class. Though only available to consumers in 1979 the G-Class has been dubbed ugly to most car reviews who seem to prefer the Land Rover. The Land Rover is alright but seems to lack the rugged appearance found on the G-Class.
The G-Class comes equipped with a 5.5L V8 turbocharged diesel engine, something Mercedes has perfected. The output on the monster is an astonishing 382 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque, with an amazing 75% of peak torque available at just 1,000 rpm. That means true raw power when climbing slowly over very rough terrain. But the G-Class isn’t just powerful when going slow, the 7-speed transmission can get you from 0-60mph in just 6 seconds.
If you are considering the G-Class check one out at your local Mercedes-Benz dealership. Starting price for one of these is a whopping $100,250.
