Toyota usually reserves their child company Lexus to take care of the Luxury car market. However, in this case the new 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser, the market for Luxury SUV is all Toyota brand.
Known for making some of the worlds best cars, this auto maker has pulled out all of the stops in producing the Land Cruiser. The car features a 5.7L V8 381-hp engine that can tow an impressive load. Enough to make a weekend warrior out of any outdoor enthusiast.

Though the Land Cruiser qualifies for the Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) it is still an SUV. It therefore can really on get 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.
If you do want an SUV that ‘ll give you the most versatility than this might be it. It’ll seat eight very comfortably, take you off-road with ease, provide excellent safety for your family and will tow your boat to the cottage on the weekend, though don’t be surprised by the sticker price. A luxury SUV like this will have a starting price of about $65,000.

I think the 1970’s FJ I had was much different than these newer Toyotas – but they are cool.
