Personally I believe that the Jetta should just stand asside because the new 2009 Volkswagen Passat is better than ever. The Passat first emerged in 1971 to help Volkswagen tap into the mid-size sedan market in North America and Europe.
The new Passat was designed to provide all the perks that come with German engineering yet with affordability. If you are looking at the Mercedes or BMw check out the Passat first.
The Passat comes with a vast array of available engines that deliver different types of performances to suite the driver. If you are going for a VW you should always seriously consider the diesel engine. It makes the car a little pricey but will deliver long lasting performance. Especially now with VW Clean Diesel campaign the car is better cleaner and will deliver reliability for a long time.
The average fuel economy for the Passat is 19mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. Nothing to really get excited over yet acceptable for todays cars.
You will also enjoy many great standard features like the new roof integrated diversity antenna, anti-corrosive galvanized sheet metal body, and much more. Check out the spec-sheet at VW.com for more information.
