Sacramento Monarchs forward Rebekkah Brunson was arrested on DUI charges early Thursday morning reported the Sacramento Bee.

Brunson, a 2007 All-Star, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County jail.

She competed for Team USA in the FIBA Americas tournament in Chile last month, scoring 9 PPG on 73.9 percent shooting.

“I am very embarrassed and ashamed and I am well aware of the seriousness of the situation,” Brunson said in a statement released by the team.

According to the article and precedent, Brunson faces some sort of punishment by the league likely based on the outcome of her legal problems.
