I’ve recently discovered 30 Rock and I’ve got to say that I wish I hadn’t waited so long to watch this show. I actually saw my first episode on a flight earlier this year and it was so good that I had to see more. If you haven’t seen it, Alec Baldwin is absolutely perfect and the writing is witty, realistic and intelligent.
30 Rock: Season Three will be released on DVD today and I highly recommend picking up a copy (you can also buy all three seasons). This season was nominated for a record 22 Primetime Emmy Awards and I think it was their best to-date.
In case you aren’t familiar with the premise, Tina Fey (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls) plays Liz Lemon, a show runner for the fictional show TGS with Tracy Jordan (with Tracy Morgan in that role). Lemon has to contend with Tracy’s antics and the tyranny of network executive, Jack Donaghy (Baldwin) while trying to sort out her own personal life.
The cast is round out by a number of talented actors but Jane Krakowski as TGS co-star Jenna Maroney and Jack McBrayer as the over-eager and effortlessly endearing NBC page, really stand out.
The fourth season of 30 Rock will premiere on October 15, 2009 so you’ve still got time to catch up!
