5 Tips for Better Blogging – 31 Days to Better Freelance Writing – Day 12

One of the joys of the web is poking around and finding nifty stuff. That’s exactly what I did with Tipster Meryl K. Evans’ sites yesterday. Turns out she’s got a manifesto on ChangeThis – a blog that says, in part it’s “is a new kind of media. It’s calm and thoughtful and direct and transparent. And unlike almost every other form of media, it reaches people through community. If an idea is a good one, it’ll spread, because people like you will send it to their friends. Unlike a broadcaster, we’re not using FCC frequencies to send our ideas to people who don’t want to hear them.”

ChangeThis is worth exploring, and so is Meryl’s Manifesto, called It’s a Big, Blog World Out There: Five Quick Tips to Building a Better Blog. It’s 18 pages of thinking and tips about blogging, and although some of it is obvious, which she knows and states, some of it isn’t. If you blog, or are thinking about blogging, this is a must have.

Write well and often,

  1. Couldn’t agree more. It’s a great read–simple, practical, and just long enough!
