5 GREAT gifts to share with your team

David Zinger recently talked about batting a management 5 for 5, and I thought I’d add my 5 things to his list, and create my own 5 GREAT gifts to share with your team.
- Start with Gratitude for a job well done, being as specific as possible with the praise. You like praise. I like praise. Your team likes praise. So why do we withhold it so often?
- Respect for their individuality – No two team members are built alike, so respect and celebrate their uniqueness.
- Give them plenty of Encouragement to follow their dreams. Sometimes folks want to do amazing things. Encourage them to follow their dreams, even if it takes them away from you. Help them find their passion, and encourage them to find, and follow, their dreams.
- When you can, promptly give them Answers to their questions. Folks deserve answers.
- Last but not least, share some Time with you. The greatest gift you can give most people is the gift of time. Make time today to share a meal, a cup of coffee, or even just make your daily 5 minutes to spend with 1 person, or all the people on your team.
That’d be 5 GREAT things you can give your team, to let them know you care enough to share what you have been blessed with. Don’t wait for year-end.
