5 Greatest Jerks in TV History

Jerks. They annoy you, anger you and offend you, but you love them. The jerk is a great character. If played correctly, girls will want him and guys will want to be him.
He’s arrogant, ignorant and snide but he makes for some great TV.
Who made my list?
Archie Bunker
All In The Family’s resident racist, sexist, pessimistic, arrogant SOB. Archie Bunker is the godfather of all jerks. Grumbling from his chair no one was spared from his rants. Meathead, Gloria and even Edith got it, but by far the best exchanges were between him and just as jerky neighbor, George Jefferson who would throw it all right back in Bunker’s angry face. A true sign of a jerk, he could not take it like he dished it.

Al Bundy
The lovable jerk. He’s a sexist, small minded misogynist, but the guy seriously can’t catch a break! He’s stuck in a dead end job, his wife hates him, his kids are idiots and his neighbor is Marcy Darcy. C’mon, that’s got to suck. And all of his hair-brained get-rich-quick-schemes resulted in huge disappointments. Like the time he tried to profit from sweating Elvis. Or when he finally got pics of those aliens who kept stealing his socks. Those could have been goldmines. Epic fail.
Vick Mackey
The first non-comic to make my list, there is nothing lovable about The Shield’s main character. Murder, lies, deception, extortion, adultery, robbery… All in a day’s work for Mackey. By far the most complex, selfish and truly evil character to ever grace the small screen, Vick Mackey is one jerk whose bad side I would not want to get on.
The Roadrunner
Did anyone else want that stupid bird to die? And what the heck kind of bird was that anyways? Okay, so I’m not sure why Wiley Coyote was constantly trying to murder him, but whatever the case, he was totally asking for it. No amount of anvils or dynamite could stop him. If I were a coyote, I’d be pretty pissed too.
Larry David
Um, where do I begin? This man has by far the most jerky scenarios to his name. But by far some of my favorite moments have occured in this new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The man has no limits. The firing of the bare midriff girl, trying to dump his girlfriend with cancer, peeing on Jesus. Nuff said.
