5 Things on the Holiday Wishlist

‘Tis the season to milk holiday-themed blog posts!

Be warned: This novelty will last until the Eggnog Tipping Point is reached. That’s when readers and bloggerette alike find themselves having to add eggnog to their rum, instead of the other way around, in order to find anything humorous in the posts. But we ourselves are easily amused–see the previous post for proof—so buckle up, the Eggnog Tipping Point is a ways away. (And if you’re in the mood for non-snarky, non-gimmicky posts about Da Holidaze, check out b5-er Libby’s new blog, All Holiday Cafe.)

Here are 5 things on the Gossip on Sports Holiday Wishlist. We reserve the right to add/substract/modify the list until Santa shows up for the cookies on Christmas Eve. Yes, smart alecks, he WILL show up at our house, even though yours truly is on the naughty list. How so? Let’s just say everyone has their price, including those do-gooder elves of his.

Wishlist

1. We wish for the Patriots to go undefeated. The more we can add to our New England Sports Bragging Repertoire, the better.

2. We wish for Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson to stay together for a while. If they dwell in coupledom long enough, there’s bound to be some blog foddah in there somewhere, particularly if Jessica’s Big Daddy opens his trap to the press. This is a guy who once said publicly, “She’s got Double-D’s. You can’t cover those suckers up!” Right. Just like you can’t get Papa Simpson to use that high-tech self-censoring device the girls pitched in and got him for Father’s Day.

3. We hope something blogworthy happens in hockey. We like the sport and darn it, for all their on-ice drama, we haven’t found much this season in terms of off-rink antics. Why do some sports get all the drama queens? It isn’t fair!

4. We hope the Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks on December 14 at the TDBanknorth Gahden. We’re headed to that game with The Bee and doled out plenty of denarii for seventh row seats. We don’t want to see the Celts lose, especially to a team that dropped a game to the so-full-of-drama-they-warrant-their-own-gossip-blog New York Knicks.

5. We hope for more sports-related stories linked to Brazilian supermodels so that we can put up more pictures like this . . .

. . . which, if our recent market research is accurate, appear to be a reader favorite. Oh, and that’s Victoria’s Secret model Izabel Goulart, for those of you who left your Guide to Brazilian Supermodels at home today.

P.S. Until Tuesday at noon, you can still vote for Gossip on Sports for Project Blog, Week 3! To vote, check out the poll in this post from the other day OR visit Allison’s blog (if you leave a comment there, you can win a prize). Gossip on Sports is making a good run in the reader vote this week—thanks for the votes so far!

  1. Sam says:

The rumored Dan Haren deal isn’t enough? My wishlist involves Santa mistaking Busch III for Fenway. ;)

  2. The Bee says:

How about Red Sox season tickets? Now that would be a gift. Do any Red Sox have supermodel girlfriends? We could use some of these Yo-Baby’s during the season.

  3. Jodie says:

Sam–We’ll put in a good word with the elves and see if Santa can’t swing by St. Louis after he leaves New England. No guarantees, but we’ll see what we can do.

The Bee–Season tickets? Make that six things on the wishlist! If we’re lucky, Tom and Gisele will introduce Izabel to a Sox bachelor and we’ll get to see The Supermodel Effect first hand.
