Another day, another round of VC for a Canadian start-up.
This time, dna13 Inc. has raised $5-million from Celtic House Venture Partners and Propulsion Ventures. This is the Ottawa-based company’s first financing round after operating in stealth mode for a few years. So what does dna13 do? The company has developed a tool that lets companies measure the how press releases and other corporate news resonates within the media, blogs and on the Web. Its 75+ customers include Scotiabank, Manulife and Sunlife.
“dna13 has distinguished itself over the past five years servicing name brand companies in the financial services sector, consumer goods and manufacturing sectors,” said Andrew Waitman, a managing partner with Celtic House. “dna13 went out of its way to build a software offering that is unique, delivers demonstrable return on investment and has proven to become essential in helping global and emerging corporations manage their brand and corporate reputation.”
