6 Ways Your Small Business Can Twitter

I know there is quite a bit of information out there on Twitter, there are even blogs just about Twitter. Just humor me, I’m new here, so I’m going to talk a little about a couple ways you and your small business can utilize Twitter.
I’m not going to cover the basics here, I’m going to assume you have a Twitter account, and you understand what Twitter is. If you don’t go check it out then come back.

Twitter can be a part of your online marketing campaign, but it can also be more than that. It can be your way to tell everyone what you had for breakfast that morning… no, wait, that’s not it.
Here are 5 ways your small business can use Twitter.
- You can use Twitter to stay in touch with what others are saying about you, your company, and even your niche or industry. Tweet Grid is a wonderful tool you can use with Twitter to find out what people are saying about you, or any subject (actually several subjects) of your choice. Just plug your search term into Tweet Grid and it will let you know the latest buzz.
- If you’re looking for a new employee, contractor, or freelancer put the word out on Twitter. Point them in the direction of your job requirements. You may just find your next employee there.
- Use Twitter to point people in the direction of an interesting marketing video, or article that you’ve created to help to your target market.
- Use Twitter to keep an eye on the competition, follow them so you know what they’re up to.
- You can also use Twitter to keep in touch with peers. Sometimes owning a small business can be a lonely job, especially if you’re a one man (or woman) company. Keep in touch with others, and network with your peers.
- Keep in touch with your customers, and build a long term relationship for repeat sales. Don’t just make it a one way street. Listen to what your customers are Tweeting, and use it to make your business stronger.
How does your small business use Twitter? I’d love to hear your ideas.
