7-Eleven Is The Devil…And Cold Stone Is Hell

You’re on a road trip or just on your way home from work when you decide to stop to get something to drink and what better place to stop than 7-Eleven. For some reason all 7-Elevens smell the same to me and it’s not a bad smell, it’s just one of those that sticks in your memory. So you look through the coolers and you see all the 20 oz sodas and then glance over at the soda fountain and suddenly you start thinking about cost of quantity compared to a bottled drink. We all do it, it’s natural. So you grab a double gulp and think “Yeah…this will last me a little while and it’s cheap. As they say “eat it now, wear it later” because that baby is 2 liters of cola, packed with 130 grams of sugar and 534 calories. Would you normally sit down with a 2 liter bottle of Coke or Pepsi and commence in slugging it down in one sitting? No, right? Then why do it out of a cup from 7-Eleven?
Or how about Cold Stone. Everything tastes good at Cold Stone, you don’t have to tell me. One thing I have never tried is their shakes. I’m glad I didn’t. The Cold Stone Creamery “Oh Fudge!” 20 oz ‘Love it’ size packs 1660 calories and 160 grams of sugar.
This is one more reason that calorie counts should be labeled for just about every product on the market. I think it would discourage people from over-indulging and would be a lot better for everyone’s health. However, I’m not completely ignorant and know that there are people out there that just don’t care and could drink one of these weight-gainer shakes from Cold Stone every day and not feel a sliver of shame in it. Your tongue and stomach may love it but the rest of your body is going to pay.
“Sorry, Heart. My tongue, tummy and lack of discipline take priority. My care for you will have to wait until all hope is almost gone. That’s when we will worry about you. O.k. Heart?”
