8-8-09: Sunday Management Six Pack

Some of the best advice and questions comes from folks other than Slacker Manager. As much as I’d love to believe I am the only source of management inspiration and assistance, that’s not even close to true. I love the fact there are other smart folks out there, so it’s my pleasure to share my Sunday Six Pack of management greatness.

Miki Saxon asks us Are women or men the best managers? I’m not sure…but Miki asks some great questions!

The folks at Leadership Challenge discuss Leveraging leadership across generations

David Silverman talks about something I would LOVE: 50 minute meetings.

Frode Heiman asks us Are you an e-mail gunslinger? I try not to be, but I might be.

John Baldoni teaches us How to Manage a High Performing Team.

Closing us out this week is Scot Herrick who gives the best advice of all we can get as a manager: Write your own performance review to protect your interests.

OK, I can’t end with that, I have to give you one more:

Lisa Haneberg and Wayne Turmel talk about managing remotely and other stuff in a fantastic interview. Managing by virtually working around. I’m going to talk to Wayne more about that, because I have a LOT of questions!

What are the best articles you wrote or read this week? Leave it in the comments so we can learn from YOU!

  1. Miki says:

Hi Phil, thanks for including me in your Sunday Six Pack. For those who don’t click and read my post, I’d like to go on record here that IMHO management skill is a matter of MAP (mindset, attitude, philosophy™), not a matter of plumbing:)

  2. Frode H says:

Thank you Phil, for including my blog :)

    Cheers.
