Count Tiger In for the Olympics

Tiger Woods seemingly has it all. Multiple green jackets to go along with three career Grand Slams, 70 career wins after this past weekend’s victory at the Bridgestone Invitational, a gorgeous wife, two adorable children, and more money than most of us would see in five lifetimes.
But one thing he doesn’t have is an Olympic gold medal.
That too may be in Tiger’s possession, providing he’s still golfing in 2016, at the ripe old age of 40. The International Olympic Committee executive board convenes on Thursday to recommend the inclusion of two additional sports in the 2016 Olympic games. Golf and rugby are considered the front runners.
Golf has not been an Olympic event since 1904, a mistake Tiger thinks should have been corrected long ago. Woods also went on to state that if golf is chosen for inclusion at the 2016 games, he’s in.
So too is Padraig Harrington, the Ireland native who came second to Woods at the Bridgestone Invitational. Harrington, a three-time major winner, has represented Ireland in eleven straight World Cup tournaments.

Golf’s Olympics bid has been bolstered by such greats as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Colin Montgomerie and Annika Sorenstam, as well as Woods himself. Should golf get the nod of approval from the IOC, expect the Olympics version to be a 72-hole stroke play event.

um yes please that would be incredible
