$999 iPhone App Does Nothing. Apple Can’t Take the Joke.

For a time, the iPhone store carried a $999 app called I Am Rich, which does absolutely nothing but show that you can afford to spend $999 on something that does absolutely nothing.
I have no problem with someone throwing away $999 just to show he’s rich. If you’ve got it, flaunt it. I also have no problem with someone selling something useless for $999. If they’ll buy it, sell it.
Hell, most Apple products are overpriced and underpowered fashion accessories, anyway. They probably pulled I Am Rich because the joke hit too close to home.
At least I Am Rich wasn’t sold with any ridiculous claims. It did exactly what it said it would: nothing. Unfortunately, some idiot bought the thing by “accident” and called it a scam. He ruined the joke for everyone.
