Anne:

Great post -

I must admit I rarely take a true day away from the computer. On occasion, though, when I've been out of town, I have spent several days away and you're right - all the things that once seemed so immediate and urgent somehow managed to survive without my attention.

Thanks for the reminder about life's proper perspective,

tim

Turning my computer off for a day is a scary thought to me. I would have to prepare days in advance for it, haha. However, I know taking a break from it all - even if not from writing altogether - is important. Hmm. If I do this, I'll post about it. Congrats Anne :)

yep... time away helps imo... it's been awhile since I was so busy that the computer becomes my time, but I remember that.

My enthusiasm for writing improves when I give myself some time away from the computer. It doesn't take long for me to be refreshed, but when I do take the break I believe my work improves vastly too.

My life is so busy with family business, community activities and grandkids that I have begun to think of my computer time as "my time".

But when I am working on a writing project it does pay to walk away occasionally which will do wonders for mental clarity.
