A Great Resource for Home-Based Nonprofiteers
How many nonprofits, I wonder, start at someone’s kitchen table, with a couple of committed people hatching an idea, scratching out endless pages of notes on a legal pad, and setting up the PC in the corner of the third bedroom as the home base of a new advocacy and fundraising organization? Lots, I’m guessing. For all of you home-based nonprofit entrepreneurs, allow me to direct your attention to Home Biz Notes, this week’s b5 media Blog of the Week. Mary Emma Allen and Yvonne Russell share their thoughts on launching and sustaining a home-based business, and, as readers of this space know, just because you don’t report a profit doesn’t mean you have to stop calling yourself a business. Check it out. | 501(c)

Thanks, Tom, you’ve expanded my horizons. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of non-profits as a home business and the fact that many of them start at the kitchen table.
Thanks, too, for writing about Home Biz Notes this week.
My pleasure, Mary Emma. Keep up the great work!
