A Letter to Jeff George – Back in NFL?

Jeff George, the former NFL quarterback, has recently gone on record as saying that he wants back into the league. Amazingly enough, he wonders out loud why NFL teams aren’t banging down the door looking to bring him in.
Dear Jeff George,
First of all, Jeff, you are 40 years old. You weren’t that good in your 20’s, so unless you’ve found the fountain of youth, chances are you suck even worse. As we’ve seen with Brad Johnson, once you hit 40, your NFL career is most likely over. The only exceptions are former superstars, kickers and punters. And really, kickers and punters aren’t really NFL players. And you, Jeff, were never a superstar — sorry to break it to you.
Secondly, you were hated by your coaches in nearly every stop. You were known to be an aloof prick whose arrogance was even stronger than your arm. If you make enemies around the NFL, chances are no one in the league will be looking to do you a favor.
Finally, Mr. George, telling the media that your arm is as strong as it was back when you were 25 comes across and straight up crazy. At least be somewhat modest and so you don’t come across as a liar.
Thank You,
Joe Sixpack
