A look into the Windows Genuine Advantage

Who isn’t annoyed with the Windows Genuine Advantage? After paying a few hundred dollars here and there Microsoft is accusing you of an illegal copy of their operating system.
Who gets to benefit on the Windows Genuine Advantage? Microsoft. The software giant does not give away installation discs and instead give you a product key. They now have the Windows Genuine Advantage policing their operating system at the users end.
One gripe of Lincoln Spector is the inability of the user to reinstall the operating system when things god bad. He goes on suggesting that Microsoft should pay a small fee of $5 dollars to have a copy of their disc mailed to them.
What are your thoughts? I would definitely want to have a disc copy of my operating system. It would be easier to reinstall when the need arises.
