A Pause in the Writing

I started to title this something like “How easily I’m distracted from writing,” and then I realized that today at least there’s an actual pause in the writing I need to do. I am, after all, waiting on one client for two more chapters, which are promised today, but who knows. And I can’t do the next batch of interviews on another project until next week.
So the time I’ve spent on the phone with friends, and doing the research needed about the possibility of buying a home isn’t a distraction, exactly. I can take credit for self-supportive action even though it isn’t work or writing related. Sometimes I forget there is a whole lot more to life than my writing and my business.
Write well and often,

It’s so funny how we seem to be thinking alike on the same days. Today I’m busy, busy writing, but taking breaks to look at homes on Craigslist – not to mention answer the bazillion phone calls that have been coming through today. Normally my phone never rings. BTW, I got my checkbook done. Finally. Back to writing.
Anne,
i know exactly what you mean…
It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking:
“must write every waking moment…”
It’s good to take a break.
thanks for this post!
truly,

Agreed. Good reminder to go with the rhythms of work-life and try to be OK with all of that.
I love you folks!
Time is also a great teacher. Taking a pause can be a great learning tool.
yep ;)
