A Whine and a Celebration

goat danceArgghhhhh… you know, I really do like my new computer. It’s blazing fast, has more ram than I thought possible and I even ended up with a new monitor… a full 19 inches. I’m sure by this time next week I’ll be settled, but…

Even though my computer guys did a good job of backing everything up and moving things to the new computer, there’s still a ton of set up or finding files to do. Things just aren’t the same.

For example, I’m having a heck of a time getting the look set up in a pleasing way… you know, all those windows options for active windows, inactive windows, etc. I can’t remember what I had before, so I’m doing lots of experimenting.

Then there are the programs I bought and downloaded… and the passwords! I’m getting there, but I wonder if there isn’t a better way… some way that would result in less goat dancing.

Write well and often,

  1. New computers are both a blessing and a curse. I get so excited at the prospect of a “fresh start” whenever I upgrade, but am then burden by the endless tweaking and adjusting to get it all back to how the old computer was! I’m sure you’ll get everything just right soon enough. I think what is most maddening though is how you’ll spend a good part of your writing day with these administrative or setup tasks. At least that’s happened to me more than once.

    Hello,
I really enjoy your blog. It has such informative information on what I want to do. I want to write a fiction novel, as well as a self-help book for adolescents.

I have the manuscript format for the novel, but I’m having a problem finding a mauscript format for a self-help book.

Could you possibly (at your convenience) share this information with me?

    I’d greatly appreciate it!!!
    Jennifer
