Account Reset Console 4.5 Tool

August 24, 2007 by Milo Riano

Lieberman Software has released their Account Reset Console version 4.5 which allows users to reset their own password. This software is said to save cost in technical support which I am skeptical since password resets don’t happen frequently and usually the percentage should be extremely low and insignificant to tech support costings.

Anyways, Vnunet has this to say about the software:

Account Reset Console 4.50, available now, is the first password reset tool that that can interface with Microsoft Windows Vista Credential Providers, according to the firm, which enables users of Vista to reset their own password without calling for technical support.

“Previously, someone locked out of a system had to go to another machine or call the helpdesk to unlock their account,” said Chris Stoneff, product manager at Lieberman Software.

The tool enables authorised delegated users to securely reset an expired password, according to the firm Workers are enrolled into the system through administrator-defined identity verification questions.

You can download the software here.
