ACCOUNTING FOR SUCCESS IN FAILURE & REJECTION
In a past post, AccountingSolver cited the rejection by American Idol of a Fil-American, Renaldo Lapuz, but which resulted in catapulting him to instant blog fame: www.renaldolapuz.com reported 20,000 hits in the first 24 hours and more than 100,000 a week after launch. A blogger dubbed him “the new idol of rejects.”
There are great people who suffered failure and rejection but, nevertheless, rose to great heights:
Albert Einstein described by his teacher as mentally slow
Beethoven judged by his teacher as hopeless as a composer
Pasteur, a mediocre student in his undergraduate studies
Babe Ruth also held a record for most strike-outs
Caruso, his voice teacher said he could not sing
Rodin got rejected 3 times by an art school
Astaire, a director noted in a memo “can dance a little”
Tolstoy flunked out of college.
