ACCOUNTING FOR SUNDAY THOUGHTS 4: Baby Boomers

May 18, 2008 by ren

According to a Newsweek article (16 – 23 September 2002), two of every three elderly who have ever lived are alive today.

Baby BoomersThis should be a lot of power and influence for baby boomers and pre-baby boomers: purchasing power, votes (stockholders & electoral), government & corporate policy directions, stored experience / expertise, etc. With the advances in medicine and the popular focus & emphasis on wellness (as opposed to sickness), this figure has no way to go but up.

But –do senior citizens really really wield (or exercise) their power and influence?
