If you can think back to the good old days of the NES, you might remember the Power Pad. Well, Bandai Namco revealed at the Tokyo Games Show that a Wii version of the ‘Power Pad’ and ‘Family Trainer’ series would be coming soon with ‘Active Life: Athletic World’.

Localisation Producers Naotaka Higashiyama and Sayaki Mori are working hard to bring this special brand of footwork and fitness to the new Nintendo console. The game will utilize not only the reworked PowerPad but also the Wii Remote, making it the first of its kind so far.

The game will also support two players on the one mat, and is designed to appeal to the general public, with more titles “coming next year.”

No word yet on pricing, but I’m sure those details will be leaked out soon enough. Looking forward to this!
