Adobe To Develop Flash Player For iPhone

CNNMoney reports that Adobe is working on getting a Flash Player for the iPhone. It was reported awhile back that Apple has decided not to support the Flash Player on the iPhone because of technical concerns. Apple also suggested to Adobe to develop a player suited for the iPhone.

During a conference call last Tuesday with investors, Adobe Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen said that since Apple released the SDK for the iPhone and Adobe having had a chance to look it over, they are confident they can bring a Flash Player to the iPhone. He was quoted as saying…

“We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone,”

In my opinion, this is a great thing. Flash is really tied together with the internet and a lot web sites are using them. Having an iPhone player that can access Flash content would really be fantastic. Here’s hoping Adobe can pull it off without compromising the performance of the iPhone.
