AdSense Coming to YouTube Player?

AdSense in YouTube Player

Darren Rowse has discovered an option to include AdSense units on top of embeddable YouTube players — an option that has strangely disappeared as silently as it appeared. In place of the publisher signup page is this message: “This functionality is currently not available. Please try again later.”

Revver has long shared revenue not only with video creators, but also with video embedders. YouTube already shares revenue with video creators through their partner program, and looks to do the same thing for embedders with the much larger AdSense network. As an AdSense publisher myself, I can’t wait for YouTube to turn this feature on for everyone. Imagine a YouTube where it’s not just profitable to broadcast yourself, but to broadcast others as well.
