Lindsay Blakely from BNet has written about the advertising spending done by Apple for fiscal year 2008 in the amount of $468 million dollars. She says that according to SEC filings, Apple has labelled the advertising budget as “Significant Accounting Policies”.
As written: Well, here’s the answer: Apple’s total advertising budget for 2008 came to $486 million. You can find the figure hidden in plain sight in Apple’s Nov. 5 10-K filing on page 62. Small wonder many people overlooked it: It’s buried in a footnote headlined “Significant Accounting Policies.”
It’s funny that Erick from Techcrunch wrote — Yup, Apple’s Advertising Budget Is Bigger Than Microsoft Vista’s
He already updated the post clarifying about Microsoft overall spending; but after numerous comments from readers challenging the post.
On my part, I am happy and I’ll stick with my perception of this advertising spending by Apple and Microsoft — “Advertising budget of Vista Alone is 62 percent of Entire Apple Budget”

Yes, the Vista Advertising might be 62% of Apples Total advertising but shouldn’t you add that Windows Revenue is about 50% of Apples Total Revenue?
Puts things into perspective, don’t you think!!!!!!
