Ahead of the World Cup

277091.jpgHost of forthcoming World Cup West Indies have been getting in to shape against India with a series of one dayers. India started off strongly, rattling up a mammoth total of 338 for 3 off their 50 overs. The West Indies did their best, but despite an unbeaten 149 from Shivnarine Chanderpaul (who had obviously had some very helpful practice), they couldn’t knock off the runs, falling an agonising 14 runs short. But nevertheless it was an exciting encounter which bodes well for both the remainder of the one day series and the World Cup. As England and New Zealand are both failing miserably at trying to beat Australia, either of India and the West Indies look like real competition for the Aussies.

  1. JT says:

Im sure playing in india will prepare both teams for the WI tracks very well. it worked for englands preparation for the aussie tour…

  2. Considering that all the WI pitches are brand new, anything could happen! Kenya for the World Cup!
