AideRSS taming the beast?
How many feeds do you subscribe to one to many. Do you feel overwhelmed over by the river of feeds. Information overload approaches. The Waterloo, Canadian-based AideRSS Inc has created a solution and it is aideRSS. The company developed PostRank a scoring system developed from the latest cloud computing technology and algorithms that will assign a PostRank score, based on relevance and reaction, posts or articles enabling the user to filter the feed and get the desired results. A visit to company’s website provides a much simpler explanation:
… in a nutshell you enter the URL of the feed that you would like to have filtered and we do some math and checking around the web to learn about this feed, its statistics, and people’s reaction to it. We then assign PostRank™ scores to all articles in the feed and provide you with a variety of tools to sort and parse these items of interest into manageable lots for you to scan and digest at your leisure.
You can use AideRSS to evaluate a new feed you are considering subscribing to and you can also aggregate your feeds in the My Feeds section to use AideRSS to help you manage, rank and sort your feeds. [Source]
Two screencasts (i) introducing AideRSS and (ii) Post Rank RSS filtering are available here. They also have a blog where updates and information about aideRSS are posted periodically.

Taming the RSS Beast
aideRSS is still undergoing Beta-testing but it does seem promising based on the feedback and what can be seen in the screencasts. This one application I cannot wait to see or use and one of the best things about is that for the moment its F-R-E-E.
By the way:
The team behind aideRSS include Chief Architect Ilya Girgorik, Chief Bean Counter Francis Lau and Chaos Coordinator Kevin Thomason. And if you are wondering the titles are the ones used on their website.
