Al Harris pulls a Kitna has Lions 8 – 8

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris torments the Detroit Lions on most game days. He literally toys with the wideouts for Detroit, but not this time. This time Al is predicting the Detroit Lions will win 8 games.

8 games? That is a far cry from the 0 games they won last year, but this is not last year’s team. In fact, 40% of the team is new and all of the coaches are new. Anyway, Al Harris said this to Adam Schein of Fox Sports.

“The Lions can win eight games.”

Strong stuff from a division foe of a team that set a record for futility by going 0-16.

Harris loves Jim Schwartz, the Lions new coaching staff, the direction at quarterback, what Detroit did in the draft and the veterans with big-game experience: Larry Foote, Jon Jansen and Julian Peterson.

I agree in principle. I like Schwartz, defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham and Scott Linehan calling the plays on offense, along with those aforementioned vets.

I can see the Lions winning five games this year. That would be a success and a step in the right direction.

But eight? No shot.

It is the summer and anything is possible right now.
