alerts: Microsoft points to PowerPoint and ActiveX flaws

zero day exploit iconYesterday, Microsoft released a patch to mitigate damage to Windows users from one Zero Day Exploit. Today, two more such ‘zero day attacks’ have earned Microsoft’s attention enough to force two security advisories: In the first advisory, Microsoft advises some windows users to avoid PowerPoint attachments in email. The other advisory recommends web surfers avoid attacker web sites which may take advantage of a flaw in the ‘Direct Animation Path ActiveX Control,’ ie, it’s probably a good idea to ’safe surf’ for now.
