All powerful Google gets serious about power

For those who may have missed the news Friday, Google, Goldman Sachs Group and Hearst Corp. announced they are investing about $100 million in Current Communications Group, a Maryland based company that offers broadband connections over electricity lines. Now, I don’t remember where or when I read it (about 6mths ago??) that Google had bought a lot of space on space internet trunk routes, including undersea cables etc.. that where being sold off at bargain prices?
2+2 might actually equal 4. Google buys internet capacity, then it buys a compay that offers internet over power lines. Hmmm, wonder what they are upto :-)
