Who can forget the classic video of Allen Iverson at the end of this entry? That AI video is one of the greatest sound clips in NBA history. “Practice. We talking about practice?” Classic.
Just when we though Iverson would have outgrown his childish ways, he pulled a classic Iverson move on Thanksgiving — he skipped practice. While the rest of his teammates got up early and headed over to the gym, Iverson apparently thought he was too good for that and instead decided to skip it.
How much do you think Joe Dumars wishes he could take back that trade now? He traded away Chauncey Billups for Iverson and not even a couple weeks into the experiment Iverson behavior hits an all-time low.
Iverson owes his teammates an apology. He owes his coaches an apology. And he owes the entire Detroit Pistons fan base an apology. Skipping out on practice is low. Skipping out on Thanksgiving practice is as low as it gets.
Thankfully, we’ll always have this Iverson “practice” video. Long after Iverson is retired, this AI video will still be around. We thank you for that, AI:
