Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com has officially announced the new Kindle DX on Amazon’s front page in a letter for. The Kindle was the rave of readers everywhere. The new versions of Amazon’s revolutionary reader is bigger and better!
The new Kindle DX is 2.5 times larger than it’s predecessor, holds 3500 books (2000 more books than the original), reads full PDF documents without scrolling per page and is on 1/3 of an inch thick! There are over 275,000 books available for download on the 3g capable network without hunting for hotspots. Most new releases are still only $9.99 and you can still browse through newspapers, and blogs.
The new screen is 9.7″ diagonal and the overall size of it is 10.4″ high, 7.2″ wide and .38″ thick. The original Kindle had a 6″ screen, was 8″ high, 5.3″ wide and was slightly thinner at .36″ thick.
only $130 more than the original Kindle, the Kindle DX goes for $489. You can reserve yours before the official release date. No specific date has been set yet, but it’s due this summer. When you perorder you will be notified via e-mail of an estimated delivery date. You can still pick up the original 6 inch screen Kindle for $359.
I don’t know if college text books are available yet, but wouldn’t that be a wonderful money saver for college students.
