Why is everyone so excited for Vista? It's just another upgrade for a failing computer system. I personally use XP because most of my favourite programs run on here. If some of the programs I used worked on Linux without having to use some kind of crossover program, i'd use Linux all of the time. Windows is getting more and more flaws. It would excite me if Windows actually used Unix to base Vista on. Of course it would have to be changed a lot, but it would however stop the system from crashing and also being so vulnerable to viruses... Though i'm sure some companies would be pretty annoyed at that... It's about time though Unix was used by Windows! It would show people like me and other Linux users that there is something left in Windows. But yeah, why order Vista? It's just another project doomed to failure.

[...] Vincent from the Windows Vista Weblog announced that Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the new operating system. This operating system has several different versions, so the pricing is a little confusing. The most basic home version upgrade will set you back about $100. The Windows Vista Ultimate will cost about $400.
That is exciting that Amazon is getting pre-orders for vista. I am excited to see what the new OS holds, but will be waiting to upgrade until it's been out on the market for a little while.
