How to you convince people from middle-America to visit their local McDonald’s for a latte? Build a giant cornfield maze in Nebraska!
This campaign is meant to create a buzz about McDonald’s new McCafe brand (the copy says, “Taste what the buzz is about”). According to AdFreak, each person who makes it through the 42.6 acre maze will receive a coupon for a free latte, mocha or cappuccino specialty coffee from McDonald’s.
The A-maizing McDonald’s ad is a year-long promotional sponsorship of The Maize at Benson Farms. A short drive from Lincoln, NE, the owners claim The 35-acre Maize at Benson Farms is the largest corn maize in the world. Secondary sponsor is Froggy 98, Lincoln’s Best Country.

Right, but can you imagine what the Pink Truth folks will say when they find out that they didn’t actually have to finish the maze… for less than $5 they could have just gone to McD’s and bought the frickin’ thing!
I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’…
I think we should do a Maze competition: The Kaybots vs. Pink Truther’s vs. The Duh Girls.
We’ll put a laptop at the end with Franchise Pick on the screen. The first through the maze can post their victory comment right here.
The 2nd place group pays for the sponsorship for the 1st place group for 2009. The 3rd place group has to spraypaint the cornstalks pink for the winners.
Balanced Mary Kay and Franchise Pick will also get their own mentions just for keeping these groups from falling into obscurity. Michael Webster can officiate.

That is absolutely brilliant. Of course we all know how it will turn out!
(by the way, don’t tell scam I told you that you were a genius… I believe I may have told him the same thing…. and I think that he thinks that he is the only one… so…. yeah…. just keep that between us)
Genius is pain, my friend. It’s a lonely burden we bear.
Though it is not without its groupies. Perhaps you know DUH? Poor girl is a bit infatuated with me, I’m afraid. Borders on stalking.
However, she and her girls at Banned from Bitchfest may give the others a run for their money. These gals know their way around a cornfield from what I understand.
