An Invitation – How Can I Help You?

April 5, 2009 by Darlene McDaniel

It is Sunday night and I seem to literally flow from one day into the next day. I don’t take a lot of down time. I like to work and that is pretty much what I do, seven days per week. One of the best things about writing here at bizzia Careers are the comments andwhat-questions emails I read from those of you who follow me. So tonight, I wanted to extend an invitation to you as a reader – Talk to Me!

What topics would you like to for me to cover here at Careers?

Are you in the market for a job? Are you struggling to find a job? Have you been fired and you don’t know what to do?

Please scroll down and leave a comment. Tell me how you found us here and share your questions about career and job search! I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Darlene,

Your writing is clear, brief and useful. I’m hoping your continue to get more readers.

    Here’s some ideas:

    - Since you have some experience with blogging, perhaps some suggestions on how to use (or how not to use) a blog to build career image/opportunities.

    - What are some of the upcoming trends in career management. This might lead to several posts with the first post listing the trends and then posts that go into more details on each trend.

    - What are the differences/similarities between career management practices of someone just establishing their career and someone well established.

    - What are the best practices in career management currently and over time. i.e. what should one do on a regular monthly/quarterly/yearly basis?

    Keep up the good work.

  2. Jean Murray says:

I would like to know more about how Baby Boomers can overcome the biases against them — too old – overqualified – won’t stay long enough — so they can find their next job. Layoffs in many businesses are hitting Baby Boomers and many of them are finding doors closed. I wrote about this a couple of days ago here on Bizzia, and I would love your comments and suggestions about resumes, interviews, anything you think might be helpful.

    Jean

  3. Hi Jean! Thanks for your comment!! I appreciate your question. I will take some time to do some research and I am happy to invest a series of post toward baby boomers and the challenges they are having in the market right now!
