I stated yesterday that I would be comparing Microsoft’s new Windows Live Writer with the blogging feature built into Word 2007.
Live Writer came through with flying colors in my opinion.
I’d love to really give you a side-by-side comparison with Word 2007, but it doesn’t work with WordPress. Do wha!? Doesn’t work with WordPress? What is Microsoft thinking?
So, I try to setup the Publishing feature to use MSN Spaces and Blogger and still no luck. Even more interesting is that when trying to publish to Blogger the system got so buried with various windows I had to use the Application Manager to just shut down Word completely.
Therefore I give Windows Live Writer the win by Technical Knock-Out! Go download it yourself and try it out. I don’t think you’ll be dissappointed at all.
I use both LiveWriter and Word 2007 with Wordpress, Blogspot and Live Spaces. I use my own FTP-site for pictures. I like Word 2007 best for new publishing (Spellchecking!! not being native English spoken) and I do first publish on Wordpress. Then I republish on Blogspot and Live Spaces with LiveWriter, which doesn’t work the way I want with Word - ie picture trouble.
