And The Week Six – Seven Winner Is…

Project Blog is an ongoing competition for bloggers. Every week, blogtestants from all over the blog-o-sphere compete in blogging challenges. The top blogger wins a special prize and the blogger with the lowest score is eliminated. There are prizes for readers too!
In this past two-week challenge, blogtestants were asked to give us some pictures in their posts. Bloggers were judged on how well they drew us into their posts and their blogs with their pictures. You can find a list of their entries here.
You guys voted to pick the reader’s favorites, who get points, which are added to the judges’ scores to create a final score for each player. Project Blog Judges are Beth (the winner of the Reality on Bravo “Create your own Reality Show” contest), April (a freelance writer and the blogger for Life as a Christian Woman), and myself.
Imagine, if you will, that the bloggers are lined up on a virtual runway, because it’s time to announce the winner! There was some stiff competition this week (as there always is), but the person with the highest score is….
Congratulations, Mark. You and your blog, Get Incensed, win week six-seven of Project Blog! You don’t have the reader base that other bloggers do, so you’re often at a disadvantage in the voting, and have finished second or third a few times because of it. These past two weeks, you won of the judges completely, and that pushed you over the edge in points. We were especially impressed with the second post, when bloggers were asked to give us something personal. Your post was touching. And somehow, you were still funny, which is what your blog is all about. How you did that, we’ll never know…but you made us want to laugh and cry at the same time, and the pictures were a big part of that.
Sally, you captured second-place points, finishing only one point behind Mark. Your slide-show style of using pictures was innovative and fun, really helping to pull in readers – and that was apparent when we saw the reader vote, where you pulled to second place this week. There were some duplicates in the second week and it all moved a bit fast, which kept you from first-place points.
NOTICE TO BLOGGERS: Immunity is no longer given to the winner! You’re all on your own now!
And now for the part I don’t like…the elimination.
Sigh.
I know that I say this every week…but this week was harder than ever…this week, we’re eliminating:
Jodie, Gossip on Sports
Overall, we enjoyed your posts, especially the second week. Somehow, you made the pictures personal for us, even if they weren’t of you specifically. Your week one post was cute, and all about what you do best on your blog – making funny, snarky comments about things happening in sports. Overall, though, it wasn’t memorable. This was especially true for the first post – we felt that perhaps it would have been more effective to do a funny caption with a single picture and talk a little bit about what the picture really signifies for sports fans. The formatting, sometimes centered and sometimes left-justified, also made it a bit hard to read. But we love you Jodie!! We’re so sad to see you go.
I’d like to take this moment to say that all of the judges at Project Blog miss ALL past contestants. Here’s a little linky-love, guys! Readers, go check ‘em out to see what’s new with past friends:
Randi, Brad Pitt Wat
Cynthia, TV of the Absurd
Kara, Colorado Review
Jodie, Gossip on Sports

I am soooo the Sweet P of this competition :)
Wow. Things have suddenly gotten a lot hotter in this competition. Dare I say there is more nail-biting drama to come in the final weeks of the competition. For the record, I always knew that Mark was a force to be reckoned with. I wonder what magazine he’s going to get…Mad? Cracked? National Enquirer?
He hasn’t told me yet which one he wants, but I’m guessing that he’s having a hard time deciding between Elle Decor and Cosmo Girl.
Eek so I am the only one in the top 4 that hasn’t won … from my Reality Show analysis this could be very good or very bad … or mean nothing at all. haha.
I bet he gets a nudie mag. That way it doesn’t show up on his credit card.
Hi Allison
You’ve got “ColoradoReview.com” above, not “ColoradoReview.net” which is where I used to blog. And actually, I’m over at http://www.TravelingMamas.com, now!
Thanks Kara – updated!
