And we’re live…
If you’re reading this, Slacker Manager has successfully transitioned from Typepad to Wordpress. There’s still a lot more to do, but this is a good start. Take a look around, but be aware that stuff will be changing pretty regularly. Speaking of which, if you find crazy stuff happening here, feel free to leave a comment, or send me a note. I’m sure things will be a little shaky for a while.
I’ll be whipping up a post about my experience with the switch…there was a lot to do. I don’t want to forget too soon, and hopefully it’ll help other folks as well.
Brief update: looks like my .htaccess file is jacked and I’m stumped. It’s supposed to be redirecting links from the old Typepad site, but doesn’t look like that’s happening. If anyone wants to start the new year off with a little good karma, have a look and lemme know what you think. Looks like it’s mostly fixed for now, though not quite where I want it to be. I’ll spend more time on it later…

One problem though… where’s the title picture!! I was shocked to see the picture of a manager (I can only presume it is the author of the site) with his feet up on his desk and his his hands behind his head was missing and replaced by a drawing of a man who looks to be slacking alittle less than the previous picture. although change is good, I still a bit out of my “comfort zone” with this one.

“I feel pretty, oh so pretty” looking at your site. Like the slick columns to the side. Nice easy colors: Sweden would approve. I do miss your header, but just like with a baby napping – all good things must come to an end. Good luck with the transition – it appears to be going well!
Love it! You even implemented an AJAX Comment Preview feature! I agree with Jason Bourdon (congratulations on a great first name!) that the new header logo is not nearly as fun as the previous one, but I get to see you slacking at work so I can live with it. The one thing I’m already digging is the quick load times. Your TypePad template took a long time to load for me, but this is snappy. Hears to much more slacking in the future.
yeah, i miss the old header graphic as well. it had a much clearer connotation than the new one does.

Hey Bren. Congrats on the cutover to WordPress. I moved across from Typepad to WP about 4 or 5 months ago, and haven’t looked back.
Unfortunately I was never able to get the link thing sorted, so just lived with it. What I did was delete all the old posts from my old blog, and then put up a single post that I left there pointing to the new blog.
I’m looking forward to hearing how it went – am considering the move from Typepad to WP for my own blogs. And I do like the new look. Congrats.
