Andre Ethier draws five ball walk – VIDEO

Sunday night, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier drew a five ball walk. How? The umpire lost count! But, as you’ll see in the video, not even Either argued or thought he earned the walk on the previous ball. He stayed at the plate and awaited another pitch from Philadelphia Phillies starter Joe Blanton.
It’s not everyday that a Major League Baseball umpire forgets the count. Heck, they have tons of help, from the various scoreboards around the stadium, to the broadcasters in the press box. But what if no one argues about it? Then you’re off the hook. Except, ESPN broadcasters Jon Miller and Joe Morgan figured it out.
You’ll clearly hear Miller go silent just after the fourth ball when nothing happens. Then, he plays along and thinks he has it wrong, but Morgan helps him figure it out that the umpire called too many balls.
Here’s the video of the Ethier five ball at bat and eventual walk. Take a look.

That is very funny. I agree with you that the most important thing is no one complained with the decision. It seems all were a bit absent-minded!
