Another Horrible Season-Ending Surgery

This time it’s Georgia Tech 6-foot-6 senior guard D’Andre Bell.

Bell, who has a condition known as spinal stenosis will have season-ending surgery to correct the condition according to reports out of Atlanta. Bell started 22 games last season for the Yellow Jackets averaging 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists a game as a defensive specialist.

Bell told the Associated Press that his doctors told him that he could come back and play next season.

“The doctor said that could happen,” Bell said.

“I am going to be taking my redshirt year. As far as me playing after the surgery, it’s up in the air. It’s a possibility. We’ll have to see how I feel after all the rehab and everything.”

Bell will have the surgery in December during the winter break, and hopes it doesn’t affect his graduation status. He’s scheduled to graduate in May.
