Another Perspective on How To Build an Audience on MySpace

In talking about my original case study and how to build a larger blog following on MySpace I have harped on some of the same points and techniques. Searchengineland.com recently posted an entry that backups a lot of the same things I have been preaching, while their article is about MySpace, this general theory can be applied to most social networking sites.

-The importance of involving yourself in groups
-Participate in forums
-Find like minded users
-Invite friends of friends
-Don’t ignore your competitors friends
-Promote your profile in other places

One topic that they briefly touched on that I have never covered here is making sure you optimize your profile for search. Taking the time to apply search engine optimization techniques to you profile pages on social networking sites can help drive traffic to your page. If you don’t know that much about SEO, you should check out SEOmoz.org, that is a good place to get information on SEO. I am going to try and develop a little primer about using SEO on social networking profiles, that should help clear up some of the mystery.

Anyways, my point is that I am right and this confirms it, okay, maybe that wasn’t it exactly. All joking aside, it is about getting your profile out there and exposed to as many places as possible, the steps outlined in this blog and the general techniques that are talked about will allow you to do that.
