Unfortunately, the answer is “D”. The AAFD is only looking at the company’s UFOC. If they were looking at the company’s track record, the company would have to be in business a certain amount of time to actually have a track record. AAFD isn’t looking to the fracshisees either, though it would be nice if they could base their accreditation on a “well rounded” investigation. And finally, I seriously doubt that any one franchise has been compared to another.

I also read somewhere that Cuppy’s accreditation is conditional for the first year. This is true for all “first timers”. All the franchises have to go through a renewal process every couple years (not sure how many).

I found it interesting that the AAFD calls itself “The Center for Total Quality Franchising”. Total is the keyword. Total, as in from start to finish, in all of it’s dealings. Not just until the franchise agreement is signed.

It told me that B & C and that out of the opportunities I narrowed it down to one with such an award/recognition had the potential of being the better of the choices.

It means none of the above. What it does mean is that Cuppy’s has taken the AAFD’s contract accredidation and exaggerated it in an effort to portray it as a guarantee of fairness and performance. It also means that the AAFD will have to restrict the extent to which simple contract accredidation can be marketed by its recipients in an effort to avoid future misunderstandings.

Obviously, this AAFD Award by a non-affiliated non profit trade association indicates that Cuppy’s is a good franchisor who will deal with you fairly before and after you buy his product.

But, is this true?
