Apple Bloat

Microsoft has its problems, nobody is arguing that here. But these constant version updates and huge downloads for the new version are extremely irritating!
Why in the world do I have to download and install a whole new copy of the software for an update?
At least I hope that’s a whole new copy at that size. What’s the deal!
