Apple Challenges GreeNYC

Apple, Inc., with its famous “apple with a bite out of it” logo is challenging the attempts by nonprofit NYC group GreeNYC to register their apple-esque trademark.
You can see the two logos in question here.
GreeNYC, a plan by New York City’s government as part of PlaNYC, will focus on creating a greener living environment for the city. They hope to implement a number of environmentally-friendly plans over the next 25 years to help a natural world that they rightfully say is “at risk.”
According to this nonprofit, their logo is unique for a number of reasons, including its “infinity” design, lack of bite, and stem/leaf combo (rather than just a single leaf).
According to me, Apple is barking up the wrong tree. In my opinion, GreeNYC’s logo is not going to be confused for an Apple, Inc logo by the common person. In addition, the word, “greeNYC” appears as part of the logo, making it even harder for consumers to confuse the two.
Seriously…aren’t there more important things to fight about?
