Apple Jumps on the Solar Bandwagon

Apple seems to be researching a new way to make their iPhone greener – solar power. Earlier, I told you about IBM’s push to go green with solar energy, but they aren’t alone. Right now, like all cell phones, the iPhone sucks up energy pretty quickly and has to be plugged in to recharge. And most people, myself included, are guilty of plugging in their phones overnight since they’re on the go all day.
The problem with that is the phone will continue to leach energy even after it is fully charged. Everyone should plug it in and unplug as soon as maximum charge is reached. Everyone should also work out five times a week and give up fast food. Do we do that? Ermm….
Anyway, Apple is currently working on a new iPhone design that will allow the phone to charge in the sun. It will still have battery back-up, but hopefully this will cut down on having to plug in the phone every night.
Every little bit helps, and since millions of people already own iPhones, I think this is a great idea. I’m hope there’s a cheap trade-up program when the new phone comes out.
