AppleTV would have been great except

Saul Hansell wrote this interesting article for the New York Times blogs called Bits: Video Podcasts: The Sleeping Giant on AppleTV. It looks great! I checked out the specifics of the service at Apple here. Apple’s pitch for the service could be listed down as:

Everything looks great. One question though: Does AppleTV allow you to subscribe via RSS to your favorite videocast or videopodcast or vlog?

You know that would have been really great. It, AppleTV, would have been a really awesome piece of work.

I might be wrong and more than happily be corrected.
