April Fool’s Day Pranks for the Office

April Fools Day is a day of fun, frivolity, and shenanigans for many folks around the world. While there are many things you can do to prank someone, here are 5 of my favorites you can do in the office.

  • Prank phone call – Have someone play a police officer and tell them they need to come down to the station for “something to important to discuss” over the phone.
  • Fun with PC mice – Remove the mouse ball from a co-worker’s mouse. Put tape over the laser on the bottom of a co-workers mouse. Replace a co-worker’s traditional mouse with a little baby mouse.
  • Turn up the sound – Set a co-worker’s phone to ring as loud as it goes, or turn up the volume on their PC so when they start up, EVERYONE in the office knows they’re starting up.
  • Smashed coffee cup – Drop a coffee cup that looks just like a co-worker’s favorite, then hastily glue it back together with a handwritten note, apologize for what you’ve done.
  • Hold an impromptu meeting (in the men’s or ladies room) – Partner with a co-worker to talk about a supposed top-secret project in the restroom. Pass agendas and meeting minutes under the stalls for additional fun.

What’s your favorite way to celebrate April Fool’s Day in the office?
